According to the TTU bulletin , senior Israeli military officials are expressing concern over the possible export by China of airborne systems for jamming the radar receivers of AWACS and control aircraft, in particular those types used by the Israeli Air Force.
Recent statements by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps command, which claimed that Iran has systems that “can jam Israeli flying radars,” have not gone unnoticed. According to Israeli experts, the Chinese products can be installed on UAVs and use cyber technologies. The Americans are also developing a similar system, codenamed Suter, which interferes with the onboard computers of enemy radars.
According to the Israelis, the Chinese have the necessary capabilities to satisfy their technological ambitions, since they have at their disposal a 150,000-strong army of cyber warfare experts.
Another sign of concern comes as new radars are being deployed on combat aircraft based on the ADEA reconnaissance system, which is considered more vulnerable to jamming. Some of these radars, which have improved detection ranges, are made by Elta, a company owned by IAI.
